야 지난주 내 한국말 많이 발전했내.. 이제 나는 한국말만 쓰고싶어...  English is becoming harder and harder every week.

Yesterday we visited the American family, and I was asked to pray, so I tried to pray in English and it was so hard, I might have put lots of Korean in it too. English is hard, but English prayers are a whole other level. Korean is honestly becoming more comfortable to speak than English is.

Anyway, this week and this transfer have gone by so fast. This Saturday we receive transfer calls, and since I have been in Bangeojin for 4 transfers I will most likely leave. Most of the time people stay in an area for about 2-3 transfers and I haven’t even gone to another area since I got to Korea!! So I will probably move to another place. I really don’t want to leave, because the members here are all like my family!!! I love them so much and we are all very close!! They have been trying to make me gain some weight lately so we get fed a ton. Anyway this week was super great! I went on a lot of exchanges with other missionaries and we started teaching a man named Dr. Yang!! It honestly wasn’t a very exciting week, and we didn’t do a whole lot but it was still a great week. We have been preparing for this special meeting we are holding called "Mini MTC" where we train the members on how to better do missionary work, and we had it yesterday during church!! It went super well and while preparing for it I learned a lot about what the members role is in missionary work!!! Missionaries can do missionary work on our own, but when the members get involved success rates skyrocket!! So I encourage you to refer your non member friends to the missionaries!!! They need what we have!!

So today i will be playing a couple big ping pong matches so wish me luck!! That’s about it for this week!! Love you!!

This week was super awesome!!!

Last p-day we had a super fun time with some of the other missionaries and with some members who came and hiked a mountain and took us to a cool lighthouse! Later on we played some intense rounds of ping pong with some members at FHE (I came in 2nd out of everyone..  only person who beat me is my ping pong trainer).  And, I had a fun exchange the next day with our zone leader!

Wednesday wasn’t to crazy or exciting but on Thursday we had Zone conference!! At zone conference President Barrow made some cool little cards called our faith project cards. On the cards are some great faith promoting scriptures! So the purpose of this is to help us increase our faith for finding people and doing everything else. So we try to read one care everytime we go out to proselyte or do other things like that. I had a really cool experience using this card!!  One night while i was contacting (the past weeks, whenever I call nobody seems to be answering, and it’s been very frustrating), but I decided to read one of the verses on the card, and say a quick prayer for someone interested to answer. So I called maybe 3-4 numbers and no one answered and when I got to the 5th one someone answered and he seems like he at least will be willing to meet later! I am very grateful for the power of faith and what it can do!

After zone conference I went on exchanges with one of my new favorite missionaries (Elder Lee JaeBoak) We had a super fun time together and we are really great friends now!! It is fun being the District Leader’s companion because of all the exchanges that we get to go on with everyone! It’s an awesome friendship building experience!!

Later in the week we met a new investigator, he is a referral from one of the members. His name in Kim JunSeo, he is a freshman and his mother is actually a less active in the church. He can’t remember anything about the church, only that he has been here once or twice. He is a super cute Korean kid and pretty good at basketball! He really wants to go to BYU in America, so he wants to get baptized, haha.

Also this week the Bangeojin sisters got a baptismal date!! It’s the last day of the transfer!! Also we had the opportunity to go to the Shinjung/Hogye sisters baptismal service too!! (Sister Yoon and Sister Pak) I won some ice cream off of Sister Yoon because I beat her in ping pong, but she won’t buy it until we do best 2 out of 3... haha.

So the reason I’m emailing so late today, is because we had a fun district p-day, and had to leave on a bus early in the morning!! It was super fun!! This week was awesome, and I’m looking forward to another great week!!! Love you all!!

Ulsan Zone with President and Sister Barrow

Monday, March 13, 2017

This weeks already done! I don’t like time anymore......... Let me enjoy my mission more!!!!! Anyway, it was another great week this week!!!! I love Bangeojin so much!!!! The members are such a blast!!! I now have about 4 Korean moms haha, they all have sort of adopted me(So don’t worry mom, I’m in good hands) ;)

Last p-day, we met up with lots of other  missionaries and had a great time, and today we will be going on a hike with lots of missionaries and 3 members :) It’s fun when the members call you and tell you what they want to do for p-day.

Anyway, Tuesday we had interviews with President Barrow, and he is the coolest, most inspired mission president ever!!!! He is such a great guy! After that I went on exchanges with Elder Golden, because we have stayed in our training areas for 4 transfers now (That never happens), and, we taught an english class on our own! I had to say the opening and closing prayers, so I guess my future wife will be very pretty because how much I pray out here;) That night I didn’t get to sleep until 3 AM because I was talking to our zone leader all night, he is super legit, and today I go on exchanges with him again! At that time he gave me a super nice ping pong paddle!!! I beat Kim Chang Hoe in ping pong the other day, and now he wants to buy me lots of ice cream haha. I can’t wait to beat everyone in America at ping pong though, my training is really paying off now :)

The work is going a little bit slow this week, but yesterday with the branch we did a proselyting activity (you have no clue how hard it is to type this email, I keep thinking of the words in Korean, and forgetting them in English). I got to go on splits with the newly ordained elder in our branch, he is super legit and is going to be a great missionary!!! Yesterday I also had to translate the sacrament meeting for the american members in the branch, wow, talk about hurting your head. It was super hard, I would understand the begining, start translating, but I’d still have to listen to what he was saying and keep translating, it got super hard when the first guy spoke thirty miles an hour. But hey, I did it, and now I get to look forward to next week of doing it!!

Honestly that’s about it for this week, I have an epic ping pong match set up with one of the relief society sisters (I hear she’s pretty good) and she reminds me everyday that if i win she will feed me really well. We also met a very promising young kid on the street who really wants to meet again! I love teaching the gospel to the wonderful people of Korea :) Love you all!!

Tuesday, March 7, 2017

Hey everyone!!! For this week I honestly don't know what to say because it went so fast!!! And not too much crazy stuff happened!!!

To start off, last P-day was exhausting. Kim Chang Ho took us bowling and to costco, running around everywhere with that guy is sooooo exhausting!!! Ii actually fell asleep in the car on the way home (Which is hard to do with the way koreans drive).

I honestly have no recollection of tuesday. I think that day we just went proselyting??? Uhhh, I don’t know maybe it was zone meeting. Anyway at some point we had a super awesome zone meeting, in which we heard some awesome stories about faith building and heard some awesome experiences!!!

Thursday I went on exchanges with Elder Paul, he is from New Zealand and we had an awesome time together!! Now since Elder Cronin is gone, I have to teach the intermediate part of the english class, and one of the members who comes loves to help me study Korean while I teach english. She always says that during class since I teach her english and she teaches me korean it’s a "win-win situation". I’m not qualified to teach english, but it is super fun!!!

Friday we met with Ee Megyong and her sons and played Clue and taught a little bit about the plan of salvation! It is super fun teaching them!! The children have a hard time listening but the mom wants to listen!! But, hey, if any of you have fun ways to teach the missionary lessons to little children, please tell me!!!!

Saturday was pretty boring (except for the english classes), and I got to play ping pong with a member and her non member husband!! I beat them ;).

Sunday was an awesome day of church, and we found an older man, who really wants our help to be a better father figure to his granddaughter that he takes care of, she and the grandma are members and he really needs the gospel’s help!! I’m excited to teach him more!!!

I just remembered what happened tuesday and since it’s p-day I’m too lazy to go back and erase the stuff hahaha, or maybe it was wednesday? Anyways, we went on a huge hike with one of the less actives in our branch, and we are trying to get him to prepare to go to the temple with his wife, because she really wants to go!!! The hike was fun, and was almost like a real hike in America!! If only it didn't have a nice road for most of it... hahaha anyways that's it for this week!!! Love you all!!
