3 weeks until Korea

Hey again friends!
Everything is going pretty good here in Provo. The worst part of the MTC has happened though, and that was watching the older district, who I've spent 6 weeks getting to know and love, leave for Seoul Nam, and Seoul missions; it was really sad and now we are the oldest district. Time is flying by!! I'm excited to get to know all the new missionaries coming in today and I have to teach them a lesson in two weeks. I've heard that these last few weeks are the fastest ones and I can't wait!! Because, frankly, I need to get to Korea. A funny story that happened yesterday, me Elders Matua, Clark and Plata were all in the room we call the chill room, and we were all so exhausted that we suddenly found ourselves all laying on the floor about to fall asleep until elder Clark said "What on earth are we doing?" And so we all got up and ran back to our classroom to stay awake. We have been hearing a lot of insane mission stories from our awesome teacher Bro Campbell so we are even more excited to leave. This Friday we begin to skype people from Korea and teach them 40 minute lessons in Korean.Yikes! It is going to be a lot of fun though!! I can't wait for general conference. Everyone and everything is going great here, we are just a little antsy to leave now. I started writing in a big Preach My Gospel that I am going to give to the next person to serve a mission so that they can see some of my insights on some gospel things. Love all of you and wish you the best!!!

Here are some pictures with some of the elders that left for Korea on Monday.

Hello people of the outside world!!!
I hope all of you have had a great week out there!! This week was all pretty much the same as last week, just no apostles... But the speakers were all still great!! This week I had an awesome opportunity of meeting a Korean sister from Busan who is going to California! She has been helping me out with a lot of Korean and taught me a few Korean slang terms, like legit. And I taught her some English slang. Something my awesome teacher, Brother Campbell, taught us is that you can learn the language and see miracles on your mission without any effort, but when you put in that effort, even when it is hard it will work out for the better and you will have much stronger faith. I have seen that happen at the MTC, Talking with Sister Park (the Korean sister from Busan) is really frustrating to me when I can't understand, and she doesn't understand what I say, but God knows that I am trying hard, and he always helps us out, to the point where we can understand bits and pieces from it and have a conversation in actual Korean (sorta)!! It is super hard to learn Korean, but it is so cool to see some of the results of my hard work!! There is honestly not much to write about when you are in the MTC for 5 or so weeks but once I get to Korea my emails maybe will be longer!! Have a wonderful time out there friends and family! Love you all!!!

Hello everyone!!! This week was super quick!!!! But it was one of the best weeks I have had here!! So, normally here at the MTC, we get an apostle every 1 to 2 months for the devotianal, but the past three devotionals have been like this, Elder Christofferson, Elder Ballard, and Elder Cook, 3 apostles in a row (We are shooting for a 4th)! And, the most powerful thing happened yesterday, I think it put the whole MTC in shock, Elder Cook said this about Christ, "I know the Savior’s voice, and I have seen his face". That is a testimony that will stick with me for the rest of my life. It was possibly one of the most spiritual experiences I have ever had. He also gave us a special blessing, which one of our branch presidency members said was the same as him coming to each us of and laying his hands on us and giving us each a blessing, it was awesome! Another great experience we had was when our awesome teacher, Bro. Campbell gave a bomb lesson about teaching to us, it was surprisingly easy to understand, even though he said it all in Korean. He related Lacrosse, a game he said he knows nothing about, to the gospel, and how if one of our attacks, or defense is weak, that Satan will attack us with that sin, but God, and our other teammates will help us protect it!! It was so cool, I am lucky to have a teacher so good as Brother Campbell. We also got our Korean names this week mine sounds like this, "Day ee bee suh", that doesn't really do it justice I suppose. I hope everyone else had a great week!!

Here is the real Elder Alles (new zone leader), he lives in Teton Valley in the summer and Saudi Arabia in the winter, he and I are pretty good friends, along with his comp Elder Roe, who is from Boise

Me and my awesome Branch President, Pres. Perriton, who is form New Zealand

Me, Kaden Hambin (Canada), and Derek Ostermiller (Indonesia), before they both left. Now I might be the only Sugar City boy repping in the MTC!! The symbol we are doing is a symbol Koreans use which means love. The thumb and index finger form a little heart!

SINGING IN THE CHOIR!

Yet another great week here in the MTC, only problem is, I completely forgot what life was like in the outside world. My life legitimately goes like this, wake up, shower get ready for class, go to class for 4 hours, lunch, class for another 4 houra, dinner, and then class and teaching (in my broken Korean) to our investigators then sleep. Life is extremely good right now, and I love the MTC, not so much the food, but the place is amazing. This week was super amazing because we had an apostle come speak to us last night, annnnnd we had Chik Fil A, honestly the best thing in my life. I have actually put on some weight, like 2 pounds..... But hopefully I am able to gain some more in the next 6 weeks that I am here. We just had the Superior district leave, they are the ones who were here the longest which now makes us the intermediate district, which feels weird because when I first got here I thought the intermediates were amazing at Korean, and then I realized that they really weren't. I have learned a lot here and I am having the time of my life!! Miss everyone (only a little bit) and love you all!!! Have a great week!!
I am getting a bit antsy to get to Korea ... Only 6 weeks left.... yaaay....

A picture of the Korean Zone, not up to date since several missionaries have left for the mission field, and they've added about 30 new missionaries.
